Everyday Carry (EDC) Strategies

Description: This introductory course covers the basics of handgun operation, safety, and marksmanship. Ideal for new shooters.

  • Required Items: Handgun, 2 magazines, eye and ear protection, holster is optional, 200-250 rounds of ammunition.
  • Curriculum Content: Safety rules, handgun parts and operation, basic marksmanship principles, shooting stance, grip, and trigger control.
  • Round Count: 200-250 rounds.

Description: Builds on basic skills, introducing more dynamic shooting drills, drawing from holster, and reload techniques.

  • Required Items: Handgun, 3 magazines, OWB (outside the waistband) holster, magazine pouches, eye and ear protection, 250-300 rounds of ammunition.
  • Pre-Requisite: Pistol I
  • Curriculum Content: Drawing from the holster, reloads, target transitions, and malfunction drills. Students/members will be able to receive their “Sanctum Drawing From Holster Certificate” for the range.

Description: Focuses on advanced shooting techniques, including shooting on the move, one-handed techniques, and un-natural stances.

  • Required Items: Handgun, 4 magazines, holster, magazine pouches, eye and ear protection, 350 rounds of ammunition.
  • Pre-Requisite: Pistol II
  • Curriculum Content: Advanced marksmanship, shooting from cover/around barricades, multiple target engagement, shooting on the move, and one-handed shooting.
  • Round Count: 350 rounds.
  • Length of Course: 3 hours

Description: This class focuses on the use of red dot sights on pistols, whether you just put a red dot on your handgun, or if you have been using a red dot for a while, this class is for you.

  • Required Items: Handgun with a red dot, 3 magazines, holster, magazine pouches are optional, eye and ear protection, 300-350 rounds of ammunition.
  • Pre-Requisite: Pistol I
  • Curriculum Content: Zeroing the red dot sight, finding the dot, tracking dot under recoil, tracking while moving, multiple target engagements, red dot specific malfunctions, low-light considerations.
  • Round Count: 300-350 rounds
  • Length of Course: 4 hours

Description: This class teaches effective shooting techniques, taught by a Certified Tactical Hyve Instructor. Tactical Hyve’s Cheat Codes of Shooting Level 1, focuses on mastery of the fundamentals and improvement for ALL skill levels.

  • Required Items: Handgun, 3 magazines, holster, magazine pouches, eye and ear protection, 250-300 rounds of ammunition.
  • Curriculum Content: Grip, stance, sight picture, trigger control, target transitions, drawing from the holster, reloads, and more.
  • Round Count: 250-300 rounds.

Description: Teaches techniques for shooting in low-light conditions, including the use of flashlights and weapon mounted lights.

  • Curriculum Content: Flashlight techniques, low-light marksmanship, target identification, and movement in low-light conditions.

Description: Provides the skills needed to best defend your home and family using a firearm. We use scenario-based training in this class with real-world examples and encourage students to think on-the-spot.

  • Required Items: Provided by the range. Please bring eye and hearing protection.
  • Pre-Requisite: Pistol II
  • Curriculum Content: Home defense planning, safe room tactics, shooting from cover, and stress inoculation drills.
  • Length of Course: 3 hours

Description: Teaches the governing rights and laws of carrying concealed in the state of NC. Successful completion of this class will provide the certificate needed to obtain your NC Concealed Carry Permit. This class consists of 6 hours in the classroom, and 2 hours on the range with a written test and shooting qualification test.

  • Required Items: Handgun, eye and ear protection, 50 rounds of ammunition.
  • Curriculum Content: NC concealed carry laws (Common Laws and Statutory Laws), situational awareness, parts of a handgun, storage, holsters, briefing of basic fundamentals of marksmanship, rules of firearms safety, ammunition, and more.
  • Round Count: 50 rounds.
  • Length of Course: 8 hours

Description: Teaches the skills necessary for effective concealed carry, including legal considerations and defensive tactics. This course also covers extensive training on drawing from Concealment. Completion of this class will provide the student with the Sanctum Drawing from Concealed Holster Qualification. *This course is NOT the NC Concealed Carry Permit Class*

Ladies’ Concealment

Description: A beginner class tailored for young shooters aged 12-16, focusing on basic handgun safety and shooting fundamentals.

  • Required Items: Handgun (.22 caliber required), 2 magazines, eye and ear protection, 100 rounds of ammunition.
  • Curriculum Content: Safety rules and range etiquette, basic grip and stance, sight alignment and sight picture, trigger control and follow-through, and introduction to live fire. Parent/guardian must be present.
